After nine years of this Liberal government, dangerous catch-and-release policies are making Canadians unsafe. Canadians don’t feel safe walking down the street or taking transit. StatsCan data shows violent crime has increased 50%. Homicides are up by 28%, sexual assaults are up 75%, and gang murders have nearly doubled.

Liberal policies have unleashed a crime wave across Canada include Bill C-75 that implemented catch-and-release bail policies, and Bill C-5, which removed mandatory minimum sentences for certain major crimes, ensuring that violent criminals are out of jail and into Canadian communities sooner.

A new report from Criminal Intelligence Service Canada shows how this Liberal government have completely lost control of crime. According to the report, there are now 63 Canadian-based organized crime groups that maintain an international reach extending into the United States, Mexico and China. Worse still, 235 organized crime groups are involved in either the manufacturing or importation of fentanyl. These groups continue to act as brokers of fentanyl, importing large quantities of precursors to make the drug that has killed so many Canadians.

Things have gotten so bad that Canada has become a source country for dangerous drugs like meth, fentanyl and MDMA. In the Canadian organized crime supply chain for dangerous drugs, there are as many as 90 importers, 61 manufacturers, 527 domestic distributors and 15 exporters.

Conservatives will end the crime and chaos and bring home safe streets by ending the Liberal’s failed taxpayer-funded hard drug programs and banning hard drugs and closing dangerous Government-funded drug dens that are located in close proximity to families and schools, under section 56.1 of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

The Liberal’s catch and release policies have been disastrous for public safety. Since they passed Bill C-75 and Bill C-5, which gave high priority to releasing repeat violent offenders and took away mandatory jail time for certain violent crimes, a crime wave has been unleashed across the country.

​

Conservatives will bring home safe streets by securing our border and giving jail, not bail, to violent repeat offenders.
